Concerns on Schools Home Schooling

My little brother is addicted to video games, and it doesn’t help that he has ADD. My mom banned him from playing a game, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, not because of the actual material, but because he would spend the majority of the weekend just sitting there playing the game, by himself, and watching clips from the game and would usually put this in front of his school work. He also doesn’t read actual books. It’s like everything that doesn’t have in-your-face action is boring to him. Anyways, our church has a video game section in it, and my parents stopped letting him play video games at home, but let him play at church on Wednesdays (which is usually an hour before the youth program starts). The problem is the one game that my mom stopped him from playing, he’s playing up there. I know because I caught him about a month ago.

I’m kind of worried about him because he doesn’t seem to have that great social skills, as he often comes off rude and abrasive. He rarely even hangs out with any friends outside of school and church. He doesn’t watch anything except cartoons, and he shows no interest in girls yet and he’s 13. I mean, I don’t think he should be like a sex maniac or something, I just thought as he started to grow up, more signs of maturity would come along as well.

So should I tell my mom’ I don’t want to be the snitchy sister, but I just don’t feel right about keeping it from my mom. Also, she’s already really upset everything else, especially since he often defies her.

Also, it’s not like my parents don’t want him to have fun. They even offered to buy him an Xbox 360 if he got straight A’s the first semester of school. But, he didn’t. That’s another problem. He’s started to care less and less. And they’re not just setting unachievable goals. He got straight A’s all through elementary school. Then he got to middle school and he just doesn’t want to try anymore.

Sorry that this is a bit long! Thanks for helping me! (And please help me and not just condemn me my family or me. Sorry, I’ve just seen that happen on YA before.
