Concerns on High School Homeschooling Programs
I’m finishing up my sophomore year of public high school.
My cousin does a homeschooling program where she studies at home but goes in to a school for certain classes, more advanced classes. She definitly gets enough social time because she has a whole community at her church.
I live about 40 minutes away, and I love closer to the city.
I was interested in doing her school, but we decided it was too far away.
Well yesterday while my mom and I were sitting in the MVA we started talking to his woman and her son and it turns out that he is homeschooled and does the same type of program but down where i live!
I don’t particualy like my high school. So many kids drink and do drugs, and I feel like I don’t have a friend I can trust. My brother went to the same school as me though, and he said he didn’t like his freshman or sophomore year, but that his junior year was really great.
I don’t have a group of friends that I would really miss terribly if I left my school..I have friends but there’s drama and I just don’t click with anyone.
I could go to this home school thing and love it and make good friends and not have to deal with the stupid druggie kids at my school, or I could hate it and be bored on the days i don’t have school and not make any friends and all my friends from my public school could leave me. (although i do have my cousin and all her friends)
Or I could stay at public school and it could get much better and my junior year could rock or i could stay and it could still suck..
I was already thinking about graduating a year early.
what do you think’
my brother thinks it’s a terrible idea and he thinks the home school kids would be weird and it would make me weird, and a loser..
