Concerns on High School Homeschooling Curriculum
We are returning first to Germany, because my mother is ill, and plan on moving to the UK as soon as possible. My son doesn’t speak German well enough for a long term future in the German School system. I would like to enroll him in an online school that follows the British curriculum, so that upon our move to the UK he will have everything he needs to enter a British University. Not sure what exactly he needs for that. AA levels and what else’ What must he complete and in what order’ And most of all, my question is can it be done online, starting from Germany, as I need to be there for my Mother for a while. At some point we will then move to the UK where my son can continue either online or at a public school. Thank you for your much needed advice! ![]()
I’m a single parent and would much appreciate an affordable British home school, either online or by correspondence. Please keep in mind that my son will be 16 in November of 2012, and will have finished 9th grade American High school. He will need to complete everything he need to then later apply to University.
If you have specific names of online home schooling programs for the UK, that would be perfect.
Thanks you!
I am aware that my son will also have to be enrolled in a German school until he is 16, then will have to enter into a part-time vocational school until of his choosing until he is 18, and/or with an apprentice ship parallel to it, but like I said the double situation with the British homeschooling alongside would only last until we move to the UK, hopefully my Mom will be well enough for us to move on to the UK. (
We’ll still be a lot closer to her than from over here in the US.)
Thank you… Ketchupk… I definitely am upset about the German law against home schooling. Why should my son have to work in two!! school systems, if we only in Germany temporarily anyway. Being fluent in English, but not in German, he should be allowed to opt out of the one in which he would be least successful, and just stick with English schooling, which is all he know! I am extremely upset about it, but I must be there for my mother and so i will still try to enroll my son in the British homeschooling, so he can prepare for our move to the UK and so he can feel good about how well he is doing is something. German school will be a struggle, I’m sure.
